Borneos - Not feeding enough?

DUMERGIRL Mar 26, 2005 11:26 PM

I have had 5 baby Borneos since last summer, all are feeding well, usually a mouse every 7 to 10 days. My question is, their backbones are somewhat prominent giving them an almost triangular look, is this normal and they will fill out with time? IUs this just how the young ones look? Should I be feeding them more or more often? I'm not wanting to "power feed" them but of course want them to be healthy...

Thought I had posted something without knowing it

From what I've seen, Bloods and STPs naturally have that 'ridge' along their backside.

Hey Drummer,
That is a little bit odd, don't you think? I thought that there was something funny with the spelling too, when I saw that tonight. I wasn't really paying too much attention till now, when I had to take a closer look at the way it was spelled.

I agree with Drummagirl. They have a very prominent backbone and it should show. What you should be concerned with is whether the ribs are clearly seen or felt.

I agree with the others who have responded. All mine have a "backbone" that shows. I would say your feeding schedule is A OK. In the words of Dave Barker, "almost every female blood python pictured on the Internet is too fat."

Hope that helps
