Several Eastern Kings found in Georgia today

Sean Mar 27, 2005 12:23 AM

In the whole group I was with, we found 4 Eastern Kings today. Here's the first one as I found it coiled up in the grass near an abandoned house.

Me holding it up.

A large 4 foot male a friend found on the crawl near a piece of tin where an Eastern Diamondback was flipped.

One of the others was found underneath a piece of tin and the last one was found by a freind as headed home. He found it crossing a road in 65-70 degree weather and got it off the road. Nothing like finding Easterns out in the wild/ You people should try it sometime!!!

I have a bunch of tin sites and places to hit this year, hopefully they will produce better than they did last year!

Brian, Do you ever post over on field herpers? I'm interested in seeing what you find up there.

Hotshot Mar 28, 2005 01:04 PM

Sean
I used to but the people got out of hand over there so I just quit posting. I usually post here or on the KY herp society forum.

Take a look over there here this spring, Ill be posting some neat stuff. Last year we found a couple hundred snakes easy!

That second one was absolutely gorgeous. It was a 4+ foot male that had almost completely perfect bands all the way down. Looked like a cb specimen as I don't think I saw any scars/flaws on it. Wish I could have gotten better pics of them.

There arent any E .kings in my area to collect. What you should do is send all of us some.

Hmmmm ... I know Eastern's aren't a threatened species, but there's PLENTY of nice ones already in captivity available.
