breeding het with het and also cage size before and while breeding? Please look!

SNAKEMAN12345 Mar 27, 2005 10:24 AM

okay i have been planning on breeding for years but never had an extra room to do it in, now in my new place i have an extra room. im just wondering some basic information to see if i reach what im planning on doing. now please dont tell me to do more research on this because i know you can answer it in 1 sentence. i would like to know what a het albino (boa) and het albino (boa) will produce, a het albino with a albino, a het striped with a het albino, a het striped and a het striped. im sure these is a easy way to explain it so please let me know. also im wondering what a ideal breeding cage size will be? im planning on breeding 6-10 pairs of boas in this room. i was also wondering if you suggest doing 1 male and 2 females in one cage when breeding? and what size should the snakes me kept in before breeding when they are seperated? so please just answer these, ive searched but people seem to have different responses. thanks

i dont really get the point of forums.... they should just have auto responses that say "do reaserch" .... but if you ask me i just think everyone that says that doesnt know [bleep] thats why they say that. because i know when i know an answer to a question i answer them and help them out. and i love when people write a big thing about doing research when they could have answer the question twice with what they wright. but of course thats because they dont know the answer. so someone that has KNOWLEDGE... can you please answer my questions. THANKS!

researched to find out and learn about!
Others took the time to read these forums first, before asking questions that are answered directly in the post below, just for arguments sake.
I have no problem helping, and always try to, but it's like you are trying to cheat off others on test day, rather than study and learn it yourself!

Here are two great sites to help you out.

www.Boaphile.com - go to Forum THINKTANK and actually read the posts

www.RioBravoReptiles.com - go to care sheets and bio's - you'll learn alot about the animal itself and breeding and more

If you read only a few posts, only about 10 minutes, you will answer ALL your questions and then some.

If you scan through the recent posts in this forum, you should also easily find your answers.

Since you don't like to reseacrh, and I am a nice guy, I will help you out.
You should get a few normals from each of your pairings. Hope this helps.

If this person has in fact done any research, and as they say everyone has different responses, then what makes them think they will come here and have one person give them the one right answer, and everyone else agree? EVERYONE has to learn how to do this, either from experience, or research. If you chose researching other peoples experiences, be ready to pick and choose info and try to make it work for you. Information will only get you so far, and you STILL have to experiment.
To answer the other questions...
You need at least a male and a female.
I use big cages, and at some point in the year I put the snakes together. Hope THAT helps

If your to lazy to do some research and try things your self, what are you going to do when you accually have babies? Ask us to come take care of them for you? They are a ton of work and don't sell themselves. Put a little effort in the reward will be that much better.

As for your comments about us not knowing anything, when we don't tell you. Maybe we are reluctent to share with you because we have worked hard to figure things out and don't feel inspired to share with someone who says they don't want to work hard and we should just give them all the answers.

Seeing how you have many questions regarding genetics I'll give you atleast the direction to find the answers (and I could answer them outright, but doing the research will help you answer more questions that you will be bound to have in the near future. Okay first link

www.geneticswizard.com You can figure up genetic probabilities here until your bored and your eyes are bloodshot.market.kingsnake.com/index.php?cat=22 Go here to find some caging

And last but not least purchase The Boa Constrictor Manual by Visjoli (sp?) it will answer many of your breeding questions.

Good luck and next time when you ask for assistance its better to be polite and ask without TELLING people what to do.
