Dwarf Crocs

goini04 Mar 27, 2005 06:57 PM

Hello everyone,

I dont think they are, but I was wondering if it was even remotely possible that Dwarf Crocodiles are available for individual ownership. Like I said, I dont think they are, but just thought I would ask.

Hi,

I should have hatchlings available again for sale this year, however you are required to have a CBW permit in order to buy one, I have this permit currently.

Paul,

Thanks for the quick response. Ok, I will admit that I am a little shaky on the terminology here, so exactly what is a CBW permit. Since I dont know what it is, it's pretty obvious that I dont have one, soooo, how could I go about getting one? I dont care how many hoops I have to jump through. I just need to know where to start.

Thanks a ton,

Stan

Greetings Stan,

Check out www.fws.gov then go under the permit section for captive born wildlife, there you will download a permit application and along with $25 or so, they may process your application, which state do you live in?

Paul,

Thanks for the feedback. I currently live in Ohio. I will go to that website and see what I can find there. Thanks a bunch.

Stan,

You can email me I live in Ohio, and since we live in the same State you would not need a permit, according to regulations,

Hey, I live in Ohio too. Specifically Northwest Ohio, right by fremont. The general area is between Toledo and Sandusky. Where do you both live. I would love to see your enclosures sometime.

Gioni, let me know if you need any help with that concrete enclosure you are going to build. If you are close I may be able to help. It would be good practice for me as I will probably end up making one in a few years.

Thanks,

Matt

I live in Columbus currently. By the time that I start that enclosure however, I will be out of the city. No space there for this type of animal ya know.

Goini...

I'm in columbus too. Shoot me an email if you ever
want to "rap" about crocs or see mine.

Trying to get out of the city as well, to build
some "real" enclosures.

I'm going to try and get on Paul's list for a dwarf,
so maybe we can carpool up there to pick them up,
as I've already been up there once.

take care.

I live in the cleveland area and i have a dwarf crocodile. He is a little over a year old. I keep him in a waterland tub, it is 72"x36"x37" and it works great. I will post pic of set up. I also have a alligator about 36". I wanted 2 know if we got them from the same person? I only know one person who breeds them in Ohio. thank you, grem

Greetings,

There are two dwarf croc producers in Ohio, myself and a good friend of which I just spoke to him today. But, if you bought a dwarf from Ed, it could have been one of my animals. Currently, I maintain over twenty five dwarfs some are spread out into zoo's though.

Hey,looks like we deal with the same guy (F.O.). We have been great friends for about 18 years.I bought two of his babies. Just wondering if we meet, have you gone to one of his pig roasts? He told me today about your trip, nice. I would love to see pics. Ray

Paul,
I was wondering on how to get the permits for the dwarf crocs. I have experience with crocodilians in both the private sector as well as the public. I have also attended the Crocodilian Biology and Captive Management Course thru AZA. Thanks,Peter
