frogs, like reptiles, don't move a whole lot unless provoked. most movement consists of "in to warmth out of heat, in to water out of water." frogs are opportunistic feeders. they have that "wait and see" policy. so they more or less stay in one area waiting for food to come close.....except of course bullfrogs who viciously hunt all other frogs so they can be the supreme amphibian...or that's what people will have you believe. which actually brings me to my next point, frogs, all frogs (not just bullfrogs) are cannibalistic...actually they eat anything that moves and will fit in their mouths. some frogs have even been known to eat things so large they died trying to eat it. if you intend to get a "friend" make sure they are about the same size so they won't eat each other
While all that is true, if you get it a very nice and large environment, it may feel more secure and move more, especially at night.
This really depends on the species, though. But some of my frogs are always moving about, so don't get the wrong idea.. .they're just not like a dog or cat.
