How do you break the flower pots in half without shattering it into a jagged piece of "you know what"? Im trying to make some new hides for my new Harmanns Tortoise.....here he is

Maybe you could use a Dremel tool and score a nice, deep line all along the surface. Then it should snap off at some point?

what i do is carve a line in the pot with a real small hand saw and then use a hammer and awl or screwdriver to knock it out, it works pretty well. ed

We used a dremel tool with a blade that cuts ceramic. They made great hides.

I use a hammer and a standard screwdriver as a chisel. Turn the pot upside down and start next to the drainage hole. For a really clean cut, you'll need a tile saw.
