incubation?

luce510 Mar 27, 2005 10:42 PM

I'm pretty sure that my female is gravid. She is getting a little larger and she is moving her head very slowly in circular movments. I was wondering how long the female is gravid so i know when to look for signs that she is laying. Also what are the correct types of incubation methods. I have never incubated anything before so I don't know the first thing about it. What temps should I keep them at (BTW: I have an incubator) should I use vermiculite, should I rotate them and if so how often, and how long should they be in there. Is there a certain time that I should turn the incubator off or do I just keep it going until the day they hatch.

Thanks
Jason

I treat them (eggs) like beardeds. I use perilite; but do the water to perilite by touch, not weight. 87 degrees... basic stuff. Regarding the female... build a good size pile of moist sand in a corner, and keep a look out. Sometimes I can feel the eggs; but not always. 56-65 days later... good news hopefully.
Good luck.

Is the 56-65 days the incubation time?

Thanks
