Instead of spending $20 on a basking rock or wood, I went in my yard and took a large rock, and washed it way more than any normal person would ever wash a rock.
For my non-venomous, instea dof buying a hiding place AND a water bowl, I use some small dog/cat water bowls that have cutouts on either side so the snake can hide under them. Not super ingenious, but it's a 2 for 1 scenario.

Haha I too used rocks from my yard but I used a hammer and chipped a huge slate like rock and then washed them as quoted "more than any normal person". People walking by gave me funny looks plus I was drying a huge pile of home depot sand on the same driveway.
