Does anyone know the genetics behind a Flouorescent Orange corn?

anson Mar 28, 2005 02:52 PM

I got one from Serpenco because I liked the look of them but I don't know much about the genetics behind it.
Is it a simple recessive mutation or more like selective breeding for a trait? I know it must be a form of albinoism because they lack the black pigment but I don't know much more than that about them. Any info would be appreciated.

They are genetically identicle to all amels, but they have been line bred to exhibit the wide borders and bright colors you see in those animals. Some breeders call them reverse okeetees, but the Flourescent Oranges are the same thing...just Rich's lines.

Hope that helps...
