i have seen my 2 retfs in amplexus about 3 times in the last few months and have heard my male call many times. but no eggs yet. thier tank was set up like this: live plants and a waterfall with a small pool.
i made them a rain chamber last week and put them in there. it is a ten gal with a 1/2 inch pvc line at the top back that has small holes in it. i hooked up a small pump and it "rains" every 2 hours for 30 mins. the holes shoot a small stream, not forcefully, but it squirts to cover about 2/3s of the tank. there is a live plant in there for them to climb in, and a floating pierce of cork bark in case they fall in the 1-2" of water in the bottom.
well since i have had them in there , about 4 days, i havent heard anything from the male and have not seen any amplexus.
is the streams of water too unlike rain?
should i make it rain more or less?
the temp is about 75-78*
any suggestions?

You need to wait. Keep your frogs less humid than normal for another 2 months or so. If they are adults, they will easily breed this fall.
