what do you all suggest to heat the room up (that i can hook a thermostat to)? and do you all suggest flexwatt? it seems to be the best for the money when doing several cages. what are some good reliable digital thermostat brands?

Right here on this site , in the classifieds, there's a cage and supply section. You can price them out yourself. There's different kinds of thermostats (on-off, proportional), you can find info on many brands in the cage/supply forum , there's many likes and dislikes to read about.
Your room temp can be controlled by whatever heat source came with the house. I keep my snake room in the mid 70's, and heat some of the cages with ceramic heat bulbs (no light)@ around $25-$40 depending on where you buy them, and some cages have radient heat panels (10 yr warranty)@ around $80-$90, but worth it. All run off thermostats. I have no experience with Flex-watt yet, but I understand that there are wrong ways to use it - poorly connecting them, I think it's bad to put your cage directely on top of it w/o leaving a bit of space.
