Rack Question

kingofspades Mar 29, 2005 01:51 AM

If I were to build my own rack...let us say one that could hold 15 adult ball pythons, what size sterilite boxes would I need?
I'm just scheming for the possible future. You know, drawing up plans and such.

Thanks in advance.

The dimensions are:
34 1/2" long
16 1/2" Wide
5 5/8" Tall
Hope this helps.

Where do you find these....I have been using smaller tubs for my big girls, but these have the smaller height I need in my rack....I have never seen them.....Care to point me in the right direction.....

check sterilites website. I believe that you can order straight from the website. I use 32qt tubs for my adults, 16qt for my sub adults, and 5qt for hatchlings.

The web site unfortunately does not let you order directly, the most they offer is to have someone call you back. They do how ever list the major stores that carry their products. I haven't seen the tubs listed on the web sites of said major stores, but that doesn't mean that the Target, or Linens & Things down the street (or freeway) won't have them. If you would rather order on-line I suggest just doing a search for "Sterilite #1960" and click to your hearts delight!!

Target sells the Sterlite 1960's for just under $8 each.
Personally I have been looking for the 1760's but have not been able to find them so far. Reptiletubs.com on the other hand has the CB70's available for $12 each. Those are 17 3/4W X 33 1/2L X 6H.
Hope this helps,

I made this rack recently. It has 18 Sterlite 28 Qrt. tubs and I'm using it for non breeding females and juveniles. It has a Helix controller with a night drop cord and 6 inch heat tape (11 X 12 inch cut in two)under each tub. For breeding females I was planning on making another rack with the CB70 tubs that are 17 3/4W X 33 1/2L X 6H.
