help if possible

I'm hoping someone has dealt with this before....
My daughters corn snake got out last night in our very cluttered, full, un-finished basement.Lots of boxes, clothes, stuff.
Its only about 13-14" . Slightly smaller around than my pinky.
Any ideas. We searched for hours on the most obvious places, but this thing hides under a small water bowl in its tank. It can get pretty small. I was hoping it went for the warmth of the furnace or water heater, but nothing yet.
It wasn't her fault...shes really good about her snake, and the latch on top had a weak spot that we didin't see. She feels pretty bad right now.

I haven't used any of these before but heard they work: put some baby powder on the ground at night and you should see where the little guy was slithering around during the night. Also, look first thing in the morning, more active then. One last thing, though I don't know if it will work with yours being so small. Put a mouse in a coke bottle, once the snake goes in to eat the mouse he'll be too fat to come back out. Hope something here helps.

I'll definately try the baby powder idea. Thats a really good idea.
Most days she just hides under her water dish .
Do they move around more at night.
There are about a million nooksw and crannys in this basement, not to mention all our stuff down there.

Oh boy...lost snakes are oh so much fun...ok, enough with me being sarcastic The baby powder is a good idea - I've also heard to use baking soda. Snakes like the edges of a room so look there. I've also heard to look up as they'll try to climb. You can try to invert the top half of a two liter and place a pinky inside to entice the snake to eat. You could also try putting a hide on top of a heating pad or some other source of heat. If you can stand it sit down there and listen at night - that's when they usually move around. It might give you some indication of where they are. You can try putting water bowls out as well with a hide right next to it and baking soda around it. I'd just be careful that you don't accidentally overlook the snake if your basement's anything like mine at home. Don't give up. We found Shadow over 2 weeks after he disappeared and he was not even 5 feet from where his tank had been. Most likely it's in a place close to the tank curled up. Good luck and let us know what happens.

I had Lost my little corn a couple weeks ago, and we looked everywhere, and nothing. We had given up, since we live in a small apartment with very few things. When out of nowhere our cat was trying to get in between the wall and our dog's kennel, and there it was. So if you have a curious cat like us, or a pet you know won't hurt it, take them to the basement and let them run around for a while and see how they do. Good Luck, I know how it feels.

Thanks for all the help.
we found her last night, and you know what, she was only abojut 4 feet from the spot she got out. Found the tiniest little crevice in the wall between a piece of cardboard.Never though she could fit.
