Dendroaspis viridis

2 females - the smaller is 6-7ft while the larger approx 10ft. Note the vivid blue coloration of the smaller female.

Just another angle. She's such a beautiful, impressive beast. Nicest one I've seen!

Incredible...

It looks like a drawing from the best artist's hand... especially those large scales are unbelivable. God surely shows its own beauty on its creation. (or this evolved by pure luck )

Sean,
All joking aside, my male West African is literally bluer than that one. We should coordinate some offspring from the two.
what do you think.

Put the male in with her now, they will double clutch sometimes. In "03" when I had them together it was not more than 1 week after introduction that I noticed ovulation on the female, so I believe I just placed them together too late. Breeding too close to ovulation often results in infertile or very low percentage of fertile eggs (never helps me with Naja species though LOL).

Very good point Chad. several places in Australia do exactly that. The lay, give 2 feeds that next week and reintroduce the male....give it a go Sean, you might really hit it on that one.
Chad, I've narrowed it down to what your problem is with the Naja....you don't play the right romantic music...

I'm feeding her now. I'll put her in w/ my smaller male and we will see what happens.

I think my problems the past 2 seasons are related to the timing of my introductions. Next year should go.

No eggs from the hannah yet. I hope she doesn't bind up on me. She's older now (which is good), and it's been 2 years (at least) since her last clutch (as Chad can verify).

Peace Dudes!

The last time the female hannah laid was in "03". She bound-up the first time she laid ("02" at 4 years of age (she laid 12 & about 23-26 were stuck, can't remember exactly). I believe she bound-up because I had her too fat, but that is just a guess. She ended up passing all of them on her own after 3 "HAIR PULLING" weeks. I don't have her records here, but I think she laid approx. 2-3 weeks after her pre-lay shed.

Good luck bro, they are the best/favorite snakes I ever owned. Keep me updated.

You saying they don't like SOULFLY?

I'll just keep trying, no biggie if I don't get offspring from the venomous. If I start having that kind of luck with Ball Pythons I'll be rid of them quick (I'm starting to breed Balls for the $$ & keeping venomous because it's what I do & enjoy).

Take care,
