Irian Jaya Carpet off feed, Anybody ever experience this...

stevemcc Mar 29, 2005 12:04 PM

She's a 2 year old (Bob Clark Stock). She has always been a picky eater, no frozen/thawed only fresh prekilled or live (Which I rarely do).
She's smaller then her litter mate (because she doesn't eat as much) who is gobbling down a small rat a week. She stoped eating 2 weeks ago, she appears to be fine, active & alert as always, same temp, still drinks, no mites, not opaque or ready to shed. I was wondering if it was a photo period thing or just a normal seasonal occurrence.
Has anybody ever had one just go off feed?

Thanks in advance!!

Steve,

It can happen though most of my experience with IJ's is that they are pigs.

I would look in the snake's mouth as mouth rot can be a cause of refusal to eat and may not be obvious. As long as that's OK and the temps and humidity are OK, then I would wait it out for a while.
