catching bugs

jeune18 Mar 29, 2005 01:36 PM

ok, i am really leary about catching bugs and feeding them to my lizards because of pesticides and whatnot, but i know some people do this. so do you catch the bugs and quarentine them for 24 hours and if they are still alive then they have not injested any poisons?
i am asking for my aunt because she has alot of crickets in her house and she wanted to catch them for her granddaughter's frog. i advised against this because you never really know what they have touched, but i thought that i would ask here since i tend to be paranoid about the health of my lizards.

As long as I knew there had not been an exterminator by the house for a long time, I used to catch the "wildlife" in my parents' basement and feed it to my collareds. Not only did they not ever suffer any ill-effects, they LOVED chasing down new critters.
