Is this right?

Hello, I have a pair of Retics and was planning on tring to breed them this summer. Right now the male is about 9-10 feet long and the female is about 13feet long. They are cage seperatly and simply in 8*3*3 cage with only a water bowl. Im planning on feeding them well till the end of augest then lowering their temps a couple of degrees and lessening the day light by one hour. After three weeks i will put them together. Does this sound right? Should i give them hide boxes, if so any ideas because them will probally destroy any thing I put in there. Also should I Feed them up till I introduce them or should I stop feeding them prior? I have heard hungry males are more agressive breeders, but I'm not sure.

I'm sorry for all the Questions I just want to get this right

Thanks for your time

Hi, I believe you have to cool them for at least two months, then gradually heat them up and start pounding them, that gets them in the mood for breeding.

Thanks for your response. Has this meathod worked for you? Strangly most of what I have read says that the breed in late summer and that cooling is unnessesary.
Thank you again.

I have no personal experience with this but I ahve always read that cooling is unnecassary. I believe you just wai till the female is showing signs of readiness to breed. I am pretty sure about this. But it is just stuff I have read and not done.

Retics do not need to be cycled. Feed your female heavy. When she stops eating put your male in. Feed male his normal feeding. Many threads on this topic in BC's forums.
