argus411 Jul 09, 2003 05:42 PM

can soem one tell me how I might make a front access vivarium that is sealed tight enough to prevent fruitfly escapes?
Also does anyone know where I might find java moss in colorado?

Well making them out of a 10 gallon tank is pretty easy. Just silicone a piece of glass at the height you want on the bottom like in my pic and then silicone the hinge to that piece and the top piece that will flip down. I will be offereing all the parts soon on my website, but in the meantime I can help you do one.

Thanks

What is on the back of the tank?

Moss that I collected in WA. It was growing on top of an old fence. Not sure how well it is doing, but it isn't dead yet.

Nice work Ken. Thanks of the great example.

Thanks krobar. The tropical pillow moss on the bottom is doing well. I am not sure if the background will last or not, but ti is neat looking. Now there are pothos roots growing through it to get to the soil below.

Thanks. I will be adding hinges, door pulls (handles), door catches and hasps to my site soon. If you are interested, e-mail and I will send you drawings of them. Unfortunately my camera does not take good pics of the acrylic parts.
