thats what im considering naming this lil guy after seeing him inhale a cricket tonight. here he is in the time it took me to grab the camera and take a shot after he first pounced it. as youll see, he swallowed it so fast i only had enough time to take 2 pictures. he's really funny because he's a lil bit of a spaz, he flails his limbs and squirms when he jumps at crickets. fun to watch.

nice pictures. i feed some of my smalle cresteds some decent sized crickets sometimes when i don't have anything else, it fills them up after about 2 crickets and they're nice a plump. looks about like what that little guy is trying to accomplish.

If you part with him, we talk. We'll make a deal. You me and some good wine and we talk business you know. LOL

Cute little bugger.

Give me the stats on how length of time it took him to hatch. I'm curious because I'm got some that should be coming up in the next few weeks. my first pair of phants were laid on 1/13/05 and my eban's were on 1/17/05. I know the eban's have some time left, most of my other one's went at 84 - 86 days. The phantasticus eggs look very good though.

laid nov 22
hatched feb 24

that makes it 95 days.

my next pair of phant eggs is due around the last week of april. it cant get here soon enough!

from the past
2 eggs laid early september (think it was like the 5th or 6th) 2003
1 hatched on dec 9 2003, other was empty by that time (i suspect that some collembolans took advantage of a pinhole crack in the egg or something)

2 eggs laid very close to a month afterwards, but i didnt find them until after a while, so i cant really give a time estimate on these. they hatched out jan 9 2004, so it was most likely very close to 30 days after the first clutch was laid.

and now im sitting on 2 more clutches of phant eggs, the first pair laid jan 20, the 2nd pair laid march 13. ever since she laid her last clutch, shes maintained her big body size which leads me to hope for another clutch soon, hopefully it doesnt take another 2 months this time for her to lay again, but you know ill take whatever i can get!
