04 Bairdi

Steve_Craig Mar 29, 2005 09:57 PM

Took some updated pics of my 04 male bairdi this evening. Very placid, easy going fellow, but does he ever love to rattle his tail. Makes quite the noise between newspaper.

Just beautiful! Color really starting to come in...he looks a lot like my '04 male, although mine's a little lighter and his head markings have faded more...who did you get him from? Do you know what month he was hatched?

Did you get your from Julie Buckley?I think you mentioned it one time before.Mine isnt half the size of Steve's yet and still has her dark markings. She eats like a pig but im not pushing her.About the only thing lighter on her is right behind her head and only if I hold her close and look right at it.Maybe mines a sleeping beauty.lol...Paul

Hey---yes, mine came from Julie, I'm pretty sure he's a clutchmate of yours...I've never actually measured mine, but he's at least 22 or 23" long (I've got him in 10 gallon tank and he's longer than the 20" long side of the tank)...If you look at the third picture posted above, see how clear the markings are on the top of the head? Yours looks like its head is lighter than that too, and I know mine is almost solid grey (the snake's head, not mine )...Anyhow, I dont' have a digital camera so I can't post photos, but I'm guessing because yours is a female she's just growing more slowly...what is yours eating and how often?

Well she was out tonite before work and she is about right on size with yours.I feed her 2 fuzzies a week..

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm feeding too, two fuzzies a week...I had my guy out the other day, and his head really is totally grey; the markings on top of his head are gone, as well as the stripe across the top of his nose, his post-ocular stripes are still evident, but have really faded out...hmmmm...does this mean there's some Mexican in there, or do Texas bairdi also get the solid grey head?

Thanks Shelley. My bairdi came from Tim Gebhard at Vivid Reptiles. Hatched around July/August of 04.
