00235020 Mar 30, 2005 01:02 PM

Hey all,

I am just looking at all the BEAUTIFUL boas below!! Great work fellas!

I relize they are different color morphs but is there any size(length) variations? New to the columbian front! Are they all "columbian Red tails" or hogg islands...etc.. I think I am goin to have to get me a pair some time soon...really love the hypos, montley and salmons!! And nothing beats a pretty albino!!

Keep the pictures rollin!!

Def. not all 'morphs' are Columbians. In actuality there is a plethora of localities that now make up the morph scene. Ranging from Generic Central Americans, to Nicaraguans, to Argentines to Suriname integrates to Bolivians. Basically it is almost safe to assume that there is a classified morph from almost every locality. Some morphs are created with the integration of two different localities ie the Central American Tiger boas, Salmontines have been created now with both Orange-tail and Salmon line hypos crossed with Argentines. Ohh the possibilities are endless. Research what you getting to make sure it is something you want before the money comes out of pocket.

Another little tid-bit would be to purchase you animals from a highly reputable breeder, which will ensure that the animal being purchased is represented properly. Some sell Suriname albino crosses as true columbian albinos or coral albinos, though they look stunning they are not 100% columbian.

All the best,
Justin Higgs

Hey how about telling me who is selling the suriname cross albinos....? I would love one! Andy

ectothermz... Mar 30, 2005 04:39 PM

Clarification: Not from Albinos originally from BCC lineage, rather Kahl strain 'columbians' crossed into Suriname bcc blood. Some of the best come from Brian Sharp. There are numerous other people that have them out there. Any one have pictures they'd like to share?

All the best,
Justin

Put me on your list! I want at least 2 females if they will be available. Is she gravid yet? Or is that a recent pic? Thanks Andy Federico

We believe her to be gravid, but are waiting for the shed.

I inquired a few months ago about one. They are high dollar so dont expect usual Albino pricing.

Their tails look sunglow-like. Plus you get that bccish look... something different. Here is a picture of one he sent to me (50% Colombian 50% Suriname Sharp Albino). This one also happened to be a paradox.

Another one to think about is an argentine cross. I had an albino x argentine from a coral litter (purchased directly from Pete) and it was absolutely stunning. You can get one of these in the $1500 range directly from Pete.

The ones I posted about above would be hets not albinos. I agree they are much more beautiful albinos. Andy

Are you sure that they are from Sharp Albino lineage? I'm pretty sure that Brian's suri cross projects were done with Kahl strain albinos. Kind of confusing when you have the originator of a strain of albinos working with the other non compatible strain.

I have a beautiful pair of 50% suriname 100% het albinos I will be breeding next year.I was not thinking about next years breeding(I am still in the middle of this years)till this came up.I am wondering if they are going to be easy to breed because they are half B.C.I. or if they are going to be stuburn like the B.C.C.'s?These guys are very nice looking hets, with the female having a very nicly formed laddertail to boot!!!I just seen that Sharp has an add in the classifieds,he also added some info on this up and coming "morph".
