Virginia has the ball rolling on "Conservation"

guttersnacks Mar 30, 2005 01:03 PM

I put conservation in quotes because I think sometimes it can be taken good ways and bad ways.
The state has put together a core team to do some analyzation over the next 5 years to do some studies to determine what deserves focus thru conservation. Here is a website they have started. hopefully, they're gonna be fighting the "Good fight" and will create some leverage to stop a lot of the developing thats going on around this area. We are in QUITE a development boom lately. My house value has gone up almost $90,000 in 2 years because of it. Personally, I like that I'll make some nice money when we sell, but I'd trade it all to get rid of the new neighbors.

Thanks for the website - I'll have to keep an eye on that to see what becomes of it. On a side note - my parents house has more than tripled it's value since they bought it (granted that ws 15 years ago...). It would now go for 600K or above most likely - scary thought.
