Help with Regurgitation

dragonbirds Mar 30, 2005 01:41 PM

I have a female western that has always been a poor eater and has always been very small. She is about 2 years old and is the size of a juvie.

I would say 4 out of 5 feeding she will regurgitate almost all or all of her food. I have tried feeding less and more frequent and that doesnt help. I know she is warm enough because she is in an identical set-up as the other and he never has a problem.

My thermometer is not working so I cannot give you exact temps, but they have been the same the entire time I have had her. Because of her eating problems I will not fully cool her, I am too worried about her health.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Shannon

you know something ?
i have the same trouble with two of my hogs one male and one female.
i took the males poop to my friend and he tested it under the scop and found out there is tape worms and same with the female so im giving them now parazap. and my friend told me when i get rid of that it should stop . so wait till she poops and take it to a vet or see if the stool clean you never know.
and feed her smaller than normal food also .

One of the first things to evaluate in a chronically regurgitating snake is to check for parasites. Even CB animals will get parasites. After 2 yrs of doing this, I think you should get this snake to a vet asap for a proper diagnosis. Allowing it to go any longer without treatment will put it closer to a fatal condition, and certainly will not ease any discomfort it is experiencing. Please post back with your findings, I would very interested.
