Rep-Cal Pellets

miskittlegrl Mar 30, 2005 05:59 PM

Hey. I ran out of crickets a couple of days ago and aren't able to get more for a while and the roaches I have aren't ready to breed yet. I bought repcal pellets because those are good (Ive heard). I also heard that you can feed a dragon just the pellets (along with greens of course) and that would be enough protein, is this true??? I bought juvi pellets since Sam is only 5 months old and still growing. It says on the little facts that you dont need to supplement any vitamins or calcium w/ d3, is this true also?? And do you HAVE to soak them in water or juice?? Thanks so much!!

It is best to soak the pellets. If your baby eats his salad then just soak them for a minute or two and then add them to the top of the salad...I would still suggest dusting with your regular supplements though.

If your beardie eats the pellets then he will be fine until you can get some more live food...there are a few people on this board who feed only pellets for the protein---they still offer a variety of salad.

One of our beardies loves her pellets--the other (male) will not touch them!

I am one of those people that feeds nothing, but pellets. RepCal Beardie pellets are specifically manufactured for an omnivorous reptile and as such need no supplements. They are cheap, clean, smell good and have everything your animals will need for nourishment.
Since I am like everyone else I do ocassionally feed a waxworm, but that because I get a kick out of seeing the prey drive exhibited by Beardies.
