twitchy

I've never had a Uromastyx before. Do they usually look kind of twitchy or "red light/green light" when they explore?

And I saw him yawn once.

Am I being neurotic? I'm neurotic by nature, but I mean, am I over reacting a bit?

Yes, particularly if you're in the room too! Some species are twitchier than others, some individuals more than others. If you're neurotic and overreactive, this is just the tip of the iceberg with Uros!

each uro will have its own personality. i have one that creeps around the cage if i am in the room but she walks normally if she does not think i am looking. hugo just walks around and hasn't a care in the world. since your guy is new, his jitters may subside with time. they do yawn and if they get hot under the basking lamp they will also gape/pant and they release salt through their noses so don't be alarmed if you see reappearing white stuff. i am pretty neurotic too, but your worries about your lizard will subside also

Good to hear. I can't wait until he settles in and I can start handling him and feeding him treats from my hand and that sort of thing. It's exciting.

I knew bearded dragons would gape while basking, and I was sort of expecting that, it's weird that they do it like that.

I want more uromastyx so I can watch them all, I want like 10 of them, they're so cool.
