Found 'Houdini' the male eastern milk 2 time escapee

HerperHelmz Mar 31, 2005 06:27 PM

Appropriately named, Houdini, a 2 foot male eastern milk snake escaped on January 16th, and I found him in my snake room, crawling around on the 19th. Well, on March 13th I realized he was missing, I fed him on the 10th, and for the 3 days after that I was simply putting a heat lamp on his enclosure, since he usually basked in the open. On the 13th I decided to feed him again, I dug through the inch of Carefresh in the 10 gallon tank, and he was no where to be seen. I don't know how long he was missing, but I couldn't find him anywhere.

He managed to get down 3 flights of stairs, before he was found in my basement, 2 feet from an open door, on March 29th. Glad to have him back of course, he chomped down 2 pinkies last night like he was never gone. He's pretty skinny though now, lost quite a bit of weight.

How cool is that? I love a good lost and found snake story!

I might not be producing easterns this year after all. The male I had has died (Not a big surprise - That can happen when you buy online). I'll just catch local easterns from now on.

Congrats on the return of "Houdini"

A point well taken. . .but I dont believe it is a fair comment. . .I have bought 95% of my breeders online and was only disappointed with one deal(not the snake just the seller. . .well in a way the snake as the deal wasn't worth my hassle ************************). If you know what you are getting and everything along with it you should have nothing to worry about.

Peace,
Ian Daviss

I apolgize if I offended you; I dont know the circumstances.
