What do you do when your snake gets a mouth full of dirt?

My BPs enclosure is lined with that bed-a-beast, and occasionally he gets a little overzealous when he eats, and will miss his strike, and get a mouthful of dirt. it looks like its a huge pain in the butt for him to clean out his mouth. what can I do to help him?

Dont feed him in his enclosure. Get a rubbermaid container to use just for feedings. Its a big help and it takes alot of the risk away. It is also beneficial because of the fact that your BP will not just associate hands in its tank with feeding. It should recognize the new surroundings as "food" and not hands as "food". Thats probabaly the best advice i have but just make sure he has plenty of water to "clean" with if you continue to feed him on the dirt.

Quite simply, and I can think of no other way to put it. Don't feed him/her in the enclosure. Get a nice rubbermaid or, depending on size, a shoe box to feed in. This will eliminate getting bedding in the mouth.
