LONG day for Chenoa

PHEve Apr 01, 2005 01:07 AM

As I had told you guys Kiowa the pretty young aquaflame male and Chenoa mated early this month.

She finally started to lay late this afternoon, and seemed like she was not feeling to well, she did not dig, she just stood in a corner with her eyes shut(had me all upset) and stood and passed an egg.

She kept doing this, moving from one place to another, never opening eyes. I always wait until they are done , remove them, and steal the eggs, and cover there nest.
But, because she acted so weird, I took the eggs one by one as she layed them.

She never seemed to care or notice. I did this until the last one was layed this evening. She layed 8 eggs. And they were big eggs.
I think thats why it seemed to take alot out of her.

She never moved afterwards. Never opened her eyes, just appeared very BEAT !

I got an eyedropper and gave her a pedialyte/calcium cocktail.

Figured maybe it would perk her up, give her a bit of energy back.

Hope she will be more herself tomorrow ,poor baby girl!

That Kiowa is looking nice in that picture. You say the eggs are fertile, right? That would be great. Most of my lizards are starting to eat now. Chili was head bobbing this morning already. The small female chuck decided to dine on a couple superworms this morning too...

lol, i know it is hard for them and it is hard for me too! once ivan turned gravid i was so excited and then two weeks later me and my mom were like "we hate spring, we hate egg laying season" and she does not even live near me to have to deal with it. however, seeing a tiny little baby would be nice, but just having the girls lay ok makes it worth it for me because i always think they are suffocating underground
