cactus for sulcata

can any one tell me a easy way to remove the spikes in cactus?
or is it ok if they swallow them or will it harm the inside?

...some would toast them over flames to get that pops sounds......others just lay them on a clean drive way and step on it (with a good pair of boots of course)...

You can use the back of a knife to scrap them off and where needed just lightly cut them off............

I'm in Ohio and have a big clump of prickly pear that mine got into one day...I never thought about feeding them to him because I didn't want to peel off the thorns.

He ate like a pig & didn't have any problems. He doesn't get them all the time, but once or twice a week all summer. I soak often, but I've never taken the thorns off...he seems to be fine.
