Is there anything special that gives them more nutrition?

Feed them carrots and dark leafy veggies (not iceberg lettuce) and the orange slice as water source for them. I also supplement with Walkabout Farm's cricket food.

this the best I have found so far it is full of nutrition for baby chicks the crix love it and it is east to feed. You can get it at farm supply or feed stores.

I second this!! That can of "cricket food" at the pet store is pretty much chicken mash in a fancy can. Before I knew about that, I always gave mine oatmeal flakes and a piece of carrot or apple a day.
