The Glass panels were salvaged from a construction materials excess guy, from old skyscrapers or something, free of charge. The lumber, siding, and tin, plus some plumbing and electrical came from an old 200 foot chicken house which fell in during the ice storm. Also the styrophome panels came from there. Half the greenhouse already had a 13x13 foot cement slab with the well pump on one corner, so half the greenhouse is dirt. We painted all the lumber (old pine} with a barrel of left over drained car oil. We bought nails, silicone glue calk, weather stripping, Lighting on ebay, a few hoses and some connectors, I have been collecting driftwood and tropical plants for years, and most were from starts from friends. I already had the little electrical heater, which is all it needs to heat in winter, the fans and screen. It mostly cost time. took us a year to get it winterproof. and sweat. The gh had just plants in the winter the first year and did very very well, the electric bill increases about thirty dollars in the winter. I added the chams and geckos, cave and hissing roaches, about a month ago. Works like a charm, so far.
