Scuttlebutt pictures

Scuttlebutt's been mopey ever since I got him - he eats a little, but hasn't been lively. Doug Dix finally sent me a mild antibiotic and a disposable feeding needle (about 3 inches long) to give him. It arrived yesterday, so I intended to give the first dose today. I'm pretty sure the threat of that feeding needle had something to do with Scuttlebutt being out and perky as heck today, eating from my fingers and being all bright-eyed and cute. I wouldn't want that thing jammed down my throat, either! He even voluntarily ate parsnip, and NOBODY does that!

That's actually been quite the debate for me. His fecal came back clean, so it's not that. He eats, he poops, he just doesn't do much else. I spoke with someone else who was having the exact same problem (from the same batch of uros), and as soon as that ornate went in a cage with others, she was fine. I've been hoping that giving him time would let him settle in, since I *could* get another uro, but really could NOT afford another setup in case they didn't get along, what with having to separate Joe and Arthur recently (no more spare tank). I'm hoping today is a sign that things are picking up.

Hehe! No - at least I assume not. But she did get all crotchety and crabby with the eggs coming, so Joe gets his own house for a while until she goes back to her not crabby self. I'm actually not sure how long that is. Meanwhile they're BOTH shedding, so they're both cranky anyway....ah well.

well i hope love is in the air for them again soon. i was actually thinking after the fact that you live in a pretty cold area. did scuttlebutt come from a warmer area and maybe he knew it was cold out? all of my lizards always know when it is raining and they are really lazy those days

uros go through periods that they'll be just like u described and then will go back to normal and start eating and go back to there normal stuff running around and what not, it seems to have something to do with the weather outside ,they just can't be fooled, he looks healthy to me and if his fecal came back clean i'd say hold off with the meds good luck
