Tail Rotting ?? Need help

mobmilli92 Apr 01, 2005 08:30 PM

My daugther has a candycane just a few months old. She hought he had shed still on his tail(tried to clean off) but a piece broke off with blood spot (so I know it's raw flesh underneath & not shed). There still is a small section of what looks like shed but it's just like the piece that broke off.

I'm suspecting he had a piece of shed that was stuck and his tail started to rot because of it. What do we do now to keep it from furthering and to heal properly from here out.

There was shed leftover and I have gotten it removed. Just the tiny tip had broken off. The tail is pinkish in color with no bleeding. So hopefully there is still hope for the rest. Put neosporin on and will see how he does.
