Hi, I have a 2 year old Tamatave and yours has way too much blue. Tamatave's should be orange, red, and little bit of green. The amount of these colors varies with the genetic background, but there shouldn't be any blue in a pure Tamatave. Here is a picture of mine below. Where did you get yours? Did the breeder say it was a cross or from a pure line?

Thanks, I agree. Although i plan on breeding him and wanted to have pure morphs.I guess it doesnt matter what female i have.(I had a female that i purchased as a male, but she died in a fall, b4 he was of age). Just remember Buyer Be Very Aware!! , Thanks again for your reply

Yes, buyer be very aware, especially when he gives you the wrong info! I would contact him and tell him...hopefully he didn't do this on purpose...but you never know.

If you do breed him, just make sure to be better than the individual you bought him from, and advertise the babies as hybrids. You may have a more difficult time selling the babies off as such. And be aware that if you sell the whole clutch to a distributor or other pet store, they also may not be as honest, and once again market hybrids as pure locales. If you don't yet have a female, maybe think about starting over with a new "pure" locale pair.
Regardless, he is a great looking cham. Good luck.

I havent been in contact with the breeder i purchased him from.As for the store where i bought mmy female at.I just just get supplies from them. I told them that they sold me a female ,They "acted" surprised..I have contemplated getting some pure locales. But i dont want to over extend myself, it wouldnt be fair to the chams.I love stoney, he is very mellow, almost never fires up, And has a somewhat unigeness to him, Thanks for the posts.
