Hey Bluerosy - HAPPY DAY

Sweet_Pickle Apr 02, 2005 06:15 PM

The male axanthic brooks king I got from you back in August finally ate a pinky!!! He just took a f/t that I left in a deli cup with him. Funny thing - he has refused to eat despite all efforts and I bet he was in that deli cup for less than three minutes. It's like the light just clicked for him.

He has subsisted on a few non-feeding corn snakes since August and is less than 1/2 the size of the female... maybe he can gain some weight now.

Well I thought it ate for you a while back. Did you ever try the cornsnake scented pink?

Well I am sure he will take off in growth. My experience is that neonates that are brumated over the winter actually take off feeding better than their siblings that ate all winter. Sometimes the growth spurt actually catches up and surpasses the size of the snakes that fed all winter.

Good luck and try to get some bigger meals in him asap.

Rainer,

I had marked down that he ate a pink right when I got him... But I think that I must have made a mistake and written it down in error because he would not even look twice at a pinky until tonight.

He has eaten a couple of corn snakes and I did hibernate him for 3 months. I hope he does take off and start eating some big meals.

Glad he's eating for you Peter. Pop a photo of him sometime when you get a chance. I can never get enough looking when it comes to Brooksi, especially Axthanics.

Steve
