Could you be more specific? There are over 1200 species.
It's a prarie skink of some kind . . . It spends most of the day buried in its substrate (composting leaves and twigs). I live in north OK, almost in KS and we find them in the soil when we dig for the garden and things. They turn blue during mating season. I have several snakes, turtles, and collared lizards but this is the first skink I've had. Normally I do my research before I get an animal but this one was left in my door. I have no history on it and no idea where it came from. It seems healthy and fat but I need to put it in a bigger enclosure but the only thing I have is an open top turtle cage at the moment otherwise I have to move some critters around.
Any help would be appreciated!

Well... Depends...
Our croc skinks are *supposed* to be mostly terrestrial, though they are excellent climbers and swimmers, too... When my mother-in-law tried to hold our very nervous mail, though, he leapt right out of her hand and went for an impromptu flight. Glad she's short!
