Today I found a list of all different types of fish that do not contain Thiaminase. I found SMELT in my local Superfresh and Shoprite, Cleaned and frozen in the fish section for only 3.99 and it brings a pound on nice sized smelt for adult garters. Fresh water Smelt do not contain Thiaminase and are much cheaper than feeder fish (usually 12/1.00) Try them on your garters and see. for a pound that contains about about 50. I find these to be much less a hassel (going to the petshop and keeping fish alive.
