Very nice. That's a beautiful canebrake. The ones with pink infusion are really gorgeous. Is it northern Georgia / southern SC locale? I really like the crocodilian shot. Alligator or caiman? Exposure is dead on.

Cheers,

Very nice work, but here's a tip for when you take frame filling pattern shots, like your first one.

When taking a pattern shot like that, I prefer to see all of the scales in sharp focus rather than having some of them a little blurred. It is hard to do with the curvature of the snake's body, but it helps if you maximize the depth of field and carefully choose the plane of the back of the camera. Try to make sure you stop down a little to increase your depth of field. Of course, using natural light, you are dealing with two conflicting variables (having enough light to reduce blur and enough f/stop to increase the DOF).
It also helps if you carefully position the camera so the the plane of the sensor is parallel to the plane of the snake's body (or at least a tangent off the closest point). This way, all of the scales will be uniformly in focus.
