This pair is really taking off and I've decided to keep them. I have one other pair I had planned to sell but after several sheds I'm changing my mind
We'll see...........

the male
...light thayeri Russ. Just this morning I went through your folder I have here in my files to look over all of the photos you had posted previously, you really do produce some exceptional thayeri.
How is breeding season going for you by the way? Any action yet?!! You know I can't wait to see what pops out of your clutches this year!
Mike
Yes I've already seen breeding with 2 of the five females that will produce this year. I should have some real screamers.
Russ
...we all want to hear from you Russ! I indeed hope the season treats you well and one or two of those screamers end up here. Would you happen to have any additional photos of orange and yellow babies you have produced over the years, including any exceptionally nice milksnake phase? Would love to see them here!
Great looking Thayeri Russ. I like the creamy background color on them. The washed out saddles look great too.
How does the pair you are thinking of getting rid of look like?
It is SOOO hard to sell any of them. I used to hold back too many but recently trained myself to believe my breeders will producd more.....
John Lassiter
...Your pics are really great buddy, not only are they all clear and sharp images of some fantastic snakes, but you always make sure to reduce the file size down to minimum... AND THEY ARE STILL SHARP! Went through your file folder here again this morning as well and out of all the pics you have posted and sent me, not a single one was over 100KB and most well below. Gotta give ya a pat on the back for that one!
Love your snakes, your pics, and the way you are so devoted to the forum and sharing information.
THE FORUM-MEISTER OF THE MONTH AWARD GOES TO.....
JOHN LASSITER!!! You go boy!
.
...and deserve it!
MAN I wish my mex mex were ready this year! You lucky dog. Makes me drool every time you post any of those terrific mex mex of yours.
Both alterna and the one thayeri pair all hooked up again this morning, looking good for those girls. Three down and three to go, one more alterna, 2 greeri and I am all set.

Female Mexmex given to me as a gift. She has a solid black ventral. I think she will turn darker with age. Right now she has a brownish tint to her.
What do you guys think? Will she darken? Will she remain this color into adulthood?
Nice little snake and the best part is that it was gratis.....(free)
Congrats on the Alterna and Thayeri breeding Mike. I wish you and everyone the best of luck with all their projects this year. Everyone be sure to share results as I will for sure....
John Lassiter
...that photo of the wild specimen(looked like a DOR) from the UANL collection that Dan V. posted a while back when he was testing our knowledge on mexicana. Do you have any other pics of her? I believe there was at least another in an e-mail you sent but I don't have it in your pic folder here, I'd really like to see more of her John... including that black ventral.
By looking at her now I would say she may darken a bit as she matures. You just never really know, which is part of the excitement of raising them to adulthood isn't it! Man, gotta love those freebies!
Thanks for the congrats on my breeding success so far John, if my luck continues I will certainly share what develops.
Mike
2nd or 3rd the vote for John Lassiter! He does deserve it. Thanks again John for the correspondence and help when I needed it.
Wow, Russ those light thayeri are incredible.
As a newbie into the mexicana subspecies, starting with a Neuvo Leon thayeri and San Luis Potosi kings. I want to thank everyone who posts in this forum for what I've learned about these snakes here. You do find the prettiest kingsnake pics on the net here. You all have fueled my passion in this hobby to get more into these amazingly colorful mexicana kings.
Thank You,
Uncloudy
Chris
Thanks Chris......I too learned what I know (which is FAR from it all) on these forums starting about 7 years ago. I remember asking novice questions and emailing breeders for some questions.
Don Shores and Don Soderberg are the first two that come to mind. They are both from here in Texas and I have asked them many many questions. I kinda consider them my mentors whether they know it or not. They were kind enough to help me out when I was losted and I make it a point to help out anyone that asks.....
I DO NOT have extensive knowledge. I have made many mistakes and have learned from them. I look up to people like Dan Vermilya, Tim Gebhart and Ric Blair. They have the extensive knowledge.
And I am glad Dan has made his appearance here on this forum. We could all learn something from him.....
Thanks,
John Lassiter
