hi, I'm new to the forum. Here is a pic of my iguana, Dragon. I'm only 16, and when I first got her I didn't take care of her properly. I actually thought I would keep her in an aquarium. The Ultimate Iguana Owners manual is great. She got a case of renal disease and I think it may have been caused by a commercial food which had fish meal and animal fat in the ingrediants. After she went to the vet she seems to be getting much better. I try to keep the humidity high and I give her pedialyte occasionly. She's now about 4 years old. Anyway, just a little backround.
I wish there were more laws about owning iguanas because their hard to care for and I would be foster home for them if my parents would let me lol. I plan to do that in the future. Even nature centers that I volunteer at have extremly innapropiate care. One problem was that the diet for the large on consisted of frozen veggies, chopped lettuce, and fruit. The little iguana got crickets. And they all got no UVB because the bulb was a couple feet out of reach (18 inches long bulb).
