it was crowded with tourist looking at all the wild flowers.i caught, took pictures of, and the released lizards of every species native to the valley beside horny toads and banded geckos.i saw over 20 chucks in various canyons i caught close to ten of them, snapped some pictures, then let them go. i even caught a baby that was under 6 inches, he was very cute.it is amazing how slow they grow in the wild.one of the males i caught was close to 17" and im guessing he was close to 15 years old.i never did manage to catch any females for some reason.on the way out of the valley,we got a flat tire in beatty so we were stuck there for five hours.which gave me even more time than i thought to go herping.i was looking to get a pair, but all i caught was two sub adult males.(they were both about13-14" oh well, ill have to go back another time
