Help with Tiger Ameiva??

Cas Jul 09, 2003 10:10 PM

Okay, so I'm inheriting a tiger ameiva from someone who's kid is not longer taking care of it (I seem to be getting a a lot of animals that way lately *sigh*).... and I don't actually know much about them. I've found a few references to green ameivas on the web, is the care for the tiger ameivas similar? Can anyone give me a care outline, or point me in the direction of a good caresheet?

Thanks,
Dawn

This care sheet covers just about everything I was going to say. Recommend minimum enclosure size equivalent of a 55 gal or 40 gallon breeder for an adult. Can't emphasize enough how much digging these guys will do. Make substrate several inches deep. Soil will work well, or peat moss, soil combination. Make sure to include a hide.
