Carrot tail babies- coloration vs age?

krackaboy1 Jul 09, 2003 10:12 PM

When do you start to see the level of orange coloration in hatchlings? Right now, out of two brothers about 4 days old- one shows close to 50% and the other is showing about 30%. Does the amount of "carrot" increase to the age of maturity?

If you are getting carrot tail at 5 days that is incredible. We do not start seeing CT until much later. In answering your question CT can increase in geckos that are even over 30 grams. I have not quite figured out the CT gene but it is fun watching the babies grow up and develop.
Good Luck,

I agree with GeckosByDesign. If you have that much carrottail at only 4 days, you are going to have some amazing little leos. Post some pics as soon as possible. I would love to see these little beauties.
