Dragon Agama Questions

sam-n-ella Apr 03, 2005 05:44 PM

HI
i have a question about dragon agamas, we were in the exotic pet shop we go to all the time, usually where we get our iggys and chameleons and they have a new display, they are green and black lizards, they have the same markings as a tiny frog thats green and black but i cant remember the name, anyway the guy in the pet store said they are called dragon agama, other wise known as mountain dragons, well my oldest son decided he wants a couple and we went home to research them and i find no information at all saying they are the same lizard, which makes me believe im iether A) looking in the wrong place, or B} they hired another sensless idiot to work in the reptile department, im thinking the latter, because when i look up dragaon agama, all i find is the flying lizard, cant find any information whatsoever on the lizards ive seen here,

a brief description:

size of a tiny iguana, green with black edging around the green marks, thier scales are sort of rough, they are extremly friendly, and the pet store was feeding them crickets

any info would be gretly apreciated,

maybe they are moubtain horned dragons.do they have any crests on there backs and how much were they being sold for?

There are no crests on thier backs at all, they look identical to baby iguanas except for the green and blackand thier scales are a little more prominent, they are being sold for 14.99 and are being housed with water dragons, and conehead lizards

probably jalapuras. there usually pretty common and cheap, although they dont resemble baby iguanas to much, but i have never seen them with a consistent name. every time i see them they are called adifferent name. i have even seen them called banana split lizards.
