Fish for RES

Orocosos Apr 03, 2005 06:21 PM

Does anyone know of a good fish species that is a good food source for a young RES? I've tried White Clouds and Danios, but my turtle just eats them too fast. Is this a species-problem, or do I just need to get more fish?

Minnows (often called tuffies or rosie reds) and feeder guppies are good. Gold fish tend to be too fatty. If your turtle is eating all the fish and ignoring other food, just give them to him occasionally. While they are a good calcium source, turtles do need a varied diet.
