Last Season.....

Coach Apr 03, 2005 09:50 PM

We had a good season last year but never got around to posting pictures so here they are.....

This is the gravid female we found crossing the road on 277 near the radio towers during the new moon in May.

The following night we found this male on the famous staircase cut further up 277.

This pinstriped male was found just prior to the new moon in June north of Carruthers on 277. It was within 10 feet of a road killed female. I bought a CB 277 pinstripe female from Aaron Matteson a few days later so if your interested these will available in a year or two.

Our female gave us this clutch of eggs after we got home!

Later that summer!

all blairs just like mom.

March Madness........ watching the NCAA basketball games in my snake room while waitng for the next alterna season. See ya'll out there!

Did you get to go to Cali? Lance and I are out in 2 days.
We should rock the casbah. Hope the weather cooperates.
I spend lots of time in my snake room but it is messy and we have His and Hers computers. Neat to see you have the full spectrum lights in the room as well. I forgot to ask last month, did you ever produce any annulata last year?
I picked up a couple of fantastic hondo's from Don Shores a couple of weeks ago. (Thanks Don!) Get to try out the new lights on the CR-V. I love the butterflies you get before the first trip. I wish I had a way of posting pictures. I took the neatest picture at the Fort Worth zoo of a Komodo Dragon.

Take Care,

Steven Owens

We did produce some annulata last year. We have a real nice group of breeders. We also produced specled , fla. , easterns, prairie , mole, pueblans, deserts, Californias in striped and banded forms, sinaloans, thayari and alterna. We have some left if your interested in trading. I remember you said you were getting rid of your chondros. If you still have them we could talk turkey. Let me know. We are out to California next week.

Hey Coach! Normally I don't sell stuff or anything but I had Troy H. Sell some the chondros I had. Just not my type of snake. So many apologies! Good luck in california. Remember to hit the hills and look in the cracks. I would go for more rosy's but I bet your looking for Mtn Kings. Im sure the california folks will tell you to leave the crowbar at home.
Have a safe trip. I know Lance and I will have a good time.

Maybe Lance and I will catch a REAL ALBINO ANNULATA.

Take Care,

SteveO

I don't know who makes them. I started out with these because they were originally available at a local pet shop here in N. Y. where I live. The pet shop stopped getting them because of shipping costs. Being the nut that I am, I couldn't mix cages in my snake room. I found that LLL Reptiles out of SanDiego carries them and will ship them anywhere. These cages are listed on there web site as creative habitats and they are available in different sizes.

Coach Apr 04, 2005 09:29 PM

I couldn't tell you the wt. , I just don't know. The snake was not known to be gravid until later when we got home. This snake was caught in may and this is the beginning of the season.
