Temperments?

darkpythons666 Apr 04, 2005 01:20 AM

I'm hoping to branch out in to blood pythons because they look amazing, but how is their temperment? Are they generally pretty mellow or moody? And can this very between night and day?

Blood pythons are no longer jumpy satanic animals that they where a few years back.Alot since have been learned about the personality and proper husbantry of these wonderful pythons.Their growing popularity is a testament to the docile temperment of CAPTIVE BRED animals.Don't get me wrong there still are punchy bloods out there but not as much,to my amazement even wild caught idividuals have been know to settle down and become tame. This is however not my experience only the experience of herpers on this forum.I have a healthy respect for the blood python species.Nomatter how TAME an animal may seem I still know what they are capeable of. As with ANY SNAKE SPECIES.Good luck, read as much as you can, decide if you can provide and maintain proper care, and go out there and get yourself one.You won't be dissapointed.

i agree with the last post i keep a variety of different species and i think cb bloods tend to be pretty docile they do seem to be a bit more nippy at a young age there not quite as laid back as a ball but if you handle them with respect you wont have any problems
