Hi, I just recently purchased a baby flapneck chameleon (C.Dilepis). Its dong great, eating and roaming around its enclosure. I mist it a few times a day and am keeping a uv light on it. Any tips or advice would be great. When I mist him/her, it climbs to the top of the screen and laps up the water from the screen...normal? Thanks!

Awwww, congradulations on your little guy!

Yes, its VERY normal for a chameleon to drink the dew droplets that form at the top of the enclosure. In fact, thats the only way they can drink. Chameleons have a tough time drinking from standing water, becuase they are attracted to movement.

So far, your doing great on your little guy. How big is the enclosure? Is it glass? Do you dust its food with vitamins, such as calcium D3 and a multivitamin? All these things are essential to a chameleons growth. Please dont hesitate to ask any questions about your chameleon though.

Hi there, my brother just got one too!! He is about 1 1/2 months old, only an inch long. He is eating baby silkies, and pin heads so far. He drinks from the leaves and likes to sit under his dripper for a "shower"! He is soooo cute! We dust with rep-cal herptative and rep-cal calicium w/d3 everyday. He is very small and hasn't grown much since we got him, but he is healthy in every other way. We'll probably keep dusting for a few more weeks before we change anything. Good luck and keep in touch!
