is this normal?

aligoonbaba Jul 09, 2003 11:20 PM

This may sound kind of funny but here it goes. My Uro like to crawl and climb of course, but I don't think he understands that some roads end. He tends to just fall of the side of couches flopping to the floor. I try and catch him or not let him walk off the edge. do they normally crawl around like that and fall down no problem, or is mine not to bright hehe?
thanks again.

oh another thing. im using playsand. how deep should i have it?

Im not to sure about the crawling thing, but Uros like to dig so give him about 3-4 inches of playsand, he'll apreciate it being a little bit deeper like that

Just a thought

My uros all seem to jump off things constantly. I also try to catch them but they always seem to go head first. I don't think it is great that they always do this, but it doesn't seem to hurt them either. I guess that's just my point of view.

my uros also have no concept of where the roads end. anna wil climb up tomy shoulder and right off onto the floor if i don't keep an eye on her. my monitors, on the other hand, will climb up there then look for the nearest place to jump to.

I read that they don't have very good depth perception, and that's why they walk off from things, and run into things. Our Wilson does it all the time.

Yeah, Ra does the same thing too. He'll just run along something and keep going even though he's run out of ground. Kinda reminds me of Wile E. Coyote...

Mine does the same exact thing... deffinately the most AIMLESS creature ive ever owned.

About the sand... Ive heard it makes it tough for them to walk if the sand is too deep... especially if its really loose. When I spoke with Doug Dix, I was advised no more than half n inch. Thats what a digbox is for.

But whatever... theres plenty of different views.
