Still not looking too good....

I tried offering different foods, different insects, different size mice, nothing seems to work. Today i checked on her, i rubbed her side a little while she was asleep, she moved but didn't even open her eyes, I dont think thats from her being ok w/ me touching her, considereing i have only had her for a little over 2 weeks and done minimal handling. Basking temp is around 115-120, ambient at cool end is about 70-75. Sandy, dirty mix, that she has burrows in. Cage is a 50 gallon regular, not tall or whatever. Ask for more info if needed. She hasnt eaten a thing in 2 weeks that i have seen. There are crickets in the cage, but i havent noticed their numbers dropping as if she were eating them. any advice is helpful

I hate to say it but you've gotta pay the vet a visit. There might not be anything wrong with your monitor, but at least you'll have peace of mind. In addition, you shouldn't leave food items in the cage. If your lizard isn't interested in the crickets after a few minutes of them being in the tank remove them all, trying the same thing the next day. Uneaten food items will only serve to agitate and further stress your lizard. So yeah, go to the vet/get a fecal so you can rule out certain things. That's the first step to your lizards recovery. Good Luck.
Sam.

GO TO THE VET! Without a doubt if your monitor has internal parasites there are no home remedies. Just get him to the vet they will probably give him panacur and flagyll(sp). This is what I did for a Nigerian Red Uro I had and no matter how perfect the setup he was not eating and doing normal Uro things. After a trip to the vet he gradually got better now he is a big fat b*stard that eats and eats and eats. Do yourself and you monitor that you support get to the vet asap.

Do you have any pictures of your monitor for us to see?? My guess would be that this is an issue of dehydration, not parasite overload, annorexia, etc... Post some photos, and perhaps some of us would be able to help you diagnose it better...

But I agree with everyone else, since your monitor is not doing good, despite what you try, take it to the vet.

The day after i posted this, i was cleaning in her cage, and i got her out, and set her on her basking platform while i cleaned, normally she would just sit there, or run to her hide. This time anytime my hand came near she lunged at it with her mouth gaping, i then tried to feed her a mouse, she still did not eat it BUT gave it a good slap with her tail. She hasnt lost quite as much weight as i thought she had. I'm thinking its more of her still trying to get used to the move. I'm going to make sure she is very well hydrated, and watch her close for a couple of days, and if she keeps improving, i'll go with that. But as for now, i dont think a vet visit is needed, atleast not yet. If she declines in her "behaviors" again or loses anymore weight, i'm goin straight to the vet.
